A multi-criteria alloy design platform
Trumet's computer-implemented approach identifies requirements, explores alloy candidates, and moves the most promising materials toward validation.
Why multi-criteria matters
Real parts have to satisfy many requirements at once. An alloy that is strong but too heavy, or light but impossible to print, doesn't solve the problem.
Conventional development usually optimizes one property, then checks the rest. Trumet's platform evaluates every candidate against all criteria together, so trade-offs are visible from the first screen instead of discovered late in testing. Read more on why this matters.

Adjust the targets below and watch how many of 700 sampled Cu–Al–Fe–Mn–Ni compositions survive. The rules are standard ones from high-entropy alloy research; Trumet's platform uses its own models and many more criteria.
High-entropy alloys are usually defined as 1.5R or above, where R is the gas constant.
Higher values favour a face-centred cubic structure, which tends to be more ductile.
Estimated by rule of mixtures. Lower is lighter, which matters in aerospace.
Below roughly 6.6%, a stable single solid solution is more likely to form.

The platform, stage by stage
Requirement capture
Application needs are converted into quantitative targets and constraints: mechanical properties, density, thermal behaviour, corrosion resistance, cost and manufacturing route.
Candidate exploration
The platform searches multi-element composition spaces that are far too large to test in a lab. Five elements at 1% steps, each between 5 and 35 at.%, already gives over 550,000 possible alloys.
Multi-criteria evaluation
Each candidate is scored against every target. The output is a ranked shortlist with the trade-offs made explicit, not a single "best" answer with hidden compromises.
Manufacturability check
Candidates are assessed for how they will be made, including suitability for additive manufacturing, before they're recommended for fabrication.
Validation
Shortlisted alloys are fabricated and characterized. Measured results confirm the prediction and feed back into future design work.
